Description

Farmhouse, now a house. 1738 with early C19 additions. Coursed and squared rubble, partly rendered, with pantile roofs. Ashlar dressings, coped gables with kneelers. 2 gable stacks. 2 storeys plus garrets, 3 bays. 2 parallel ranges. Windows include flush mullioned casements, renewed 1985. South front has central early C19 gabled porch with finials and segmental arched opening. Flanked by single casements. Above, central round headed window and over it, datestone inscribed 'NTA 1738'. Flanked by single casements. West end has C20 casements and door. Above, each gable has two C18 garret casements. Rear has to right, a C20 casement on each floor. Blocked door in return right, a C20 casement on each floor. Blocked door in return angle. Interior has resited dogleg stair with square newels and turned balusters. Chamfered span beams. Cellar contains salting trough and benches. This building was restored from a derelict state in 1985. (NCC/js)
