Description

House and adjoining boundary wall. Late C18, raised early C19, with early C19 additions. Brick with stone and stucco dressings. Roof not visible. Sill bands to basement and first floor, first floor band, modillion eaves cornice, plain parapet with 5 blank panels, 3 ridge and single side wall stacks. 3 storeys plus basement; 5 window range of glazing bar sashes with multi keystone lintels. Central steps with C20 brick cheeks and moulded early C19 doorcase with multi keystone lintel and hood on consoles. Half glazed door with overlight. On either side, 2 sashes. Basement has 2 blanks to left and 2 casements to right. To left, a single storey addition with ramped coped gable and a single sash. To right, a ramped coped boundary wall with a panelled doorway. Behind it, a set back 3 storey addition, 3 windows, in a similar style to the main block. Rear has 3 sashes to left and 2 larger sashes to right, and above, 5 sashes. Central doorcase and door similar to the front, flanked to left by a larger sash and to left again by a half glazed door. To right, a C19 canted brick bay window with parapet and glazing bar sashes. East side has 5 blanks on each floor and below, single storey addition with a segment headed door to left and above it, a triangular group of pigeon holes. Interior has open well stair with landings, ramped and scrolled handrail and vase and stem balusters. Stairwell has enriched moulded cornice and panelled dado and 2 fielded 6-panel doors with eared and shouldered architraves. Landing and stairwell have round headed doorcases with keystones and fanlights. Principal rooms have enriched cornices. 2 early cast iron Classical fireplaces and mid C19 cast iron fireplace painted to resemble marble. Outside, adjoining wall to north east, brick with ramped stone coping, approx. 25M long. (EH)
