Description

Pair of houses. c1800. Brick with stone dressings and hipped pantile roof. Plinth, first and second floor bands, moulded wooden eaves. 2 ridge and 2 side wall stacks. Windows are glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick heads. 3 storeys; 5 window range. U-plan. Below, central sash flanked by single fluted doorcases with open pediments on scroll bvrackets with lion masks. Moulded 6-panel doors with Gothic glazing bar overlights and round headed scrapers. Beyond, single sashes. Left side, to Clinton Street, has segmental heads to ground and first floors. Regular fenestration with windows of various types. Door to left. Interior has elaborate plasterwork ceilings to entrance halls. (EH)
