Description

House, shop and adjoining former stable, now offices and stores. c.1800. Brick with stucco dressings and gabled and hipped concrete tile roofs. Cogged eaves, 2 gable and single side wall stacks. 2 storeys. Millgate front has to left a 4 window range of glazing bar sashes with keystoned lintels, the alternate windows being blank. Below, to left, corner shopfront with half-glazed 2 leaf door flanked by single 3-light shop windows with pilastered surrounds, all under continuous cornice. To its right, a fielded 6-panel door with overlight and pointed headed scraper. To its right, a glazing bar sash and a blank window. Former stable, to right, 2 storeys, has 3 windows with segmental heads. Central Yorkshire sash flanked to right by a similar sash, and to left, a larger glazing bar sash. Below, to left, a close boarded door, and to right, an altered pair of close-boarded carriage doors, both with wooden lintels. Left side, to Parliament Street, has 2 glazing bar sashes with segmental heads, that to right being blank. Below, to left, a segment headed window. (EH)
