Parish Church, 1875, J. I. Lee. Coursed squared rubble with limestone dressings, plain tiled roofs, shingled steeple; nave, chancel, south porch, south tower, vestry. Early English style. Coped gabled south porch has chamfered and rebated opening with engaged shaft responds with water-holding bases. Nave, two bays has each side 3 triple lancet windows with central plate tracery motif; west window similar. Vestry has double shaft chimney and plate tracery circular gable window. Chancel, one bay, single triple lancet window with plate tracery motif, on either side; east window similar. South tower, three stages, clasping buttresses with 3 setoffs, gabled recess to east containing memorial to Eleanor of Castile. Pair of single lancets on first stage; above double lancet bell openings, billet moulded corbel table. Octagonal broach spire with 2 tiers of lucarnes. Aisleless nave has C14 octagonal font with traceried panels on stem and shields in quatrefoil panels on bowl. Roof with intersecting arches braces to principal rafters, and tenoned purlins. Plain C19 fittings. Chancel has C19 reredos, C19 stained glass in east window, encaustic tile floor incorporating texts. Vestry contains re-used Tudor arched C15 door head. Churchyard wall gas cast iron coping carrying C19 wrought iron railings and matching gate. (NCC/js)
