Description

Windmill c.1745 and 1831. Brick and stone with timber structure within and C20 timber roof, circular battered tower. 2 stages, the lower section of a post mill. Brick buttresses carrying stone blocks, supporting projecting ends of cross trees. Pair of close boarded doors, brick above inscribed 'TC 1831'; pair of shuttered openings all with segmental heads. Second stage has shuttered opening with segmental head on south east side, and close boarded door on north side. Interior has main post inscribed 'J.S. 1746'; cross trees and quarter bars; oak, whitewashed. (NCC/js)
