Description

Pigeoncote, stables and granary, late C18 and early C19. Brick with pantiled roofs. Pigeoncote, to left, has tumbled brick coped gables, eaves band, cogged eaves, square plan, one bay, 3 stages. Central stable door flanked by single C20 casements, all with segmental heads; above, central close boarded door with segmental head; above again, 4 tiers of pigeonholes. Attached stable and granary, to right, has deep cogged eaves, tumbled brick coped gable, common rafter roof with halved rafters, stripped. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Off centre brick and stone stairway with, to left, round headed kennel and to right segmental headed doorway; to left, stable door with timber lintel, flanked by single unglazed openings. To right, 3 unglazed openings, one with segmental head; beyond, stable door with timber lintel and beyond again, double fixed light. Above, central close boarded door, with timber lintel, flanked by single unglazed openings. Included for group value only. (NCC/js)
