Description

Public house. c1700 with mid C19 extensions and C20 alterations. Rendered, with steep pitched and catslide pantile roofs. Projecting quoins, dentillated eaves, coped gables, 2 of them with shaped kneelers. Single gable and 2 ridge stacks. 3 storeys, 3 bays, 2 parallel ranges plus rear additions. South front has 2 3-light stone mullion windows to first floor flanking single-light window and 2 2-light stone mullion windows to attic. Mid C20 central doorway flanked by single triple sashes. 3/3 sash to upper left. South east corner, to right, splayed and corbelled. Ends and rear additions have all late C19 and late C20 fenestration. INTERIOR. Front 1st floor bedrooms have bridging beams and joists. From 1st floor to attic there is an open-well staircase with splat balusters. Attic rooms have lime ash floors. Roof above retains heavy purlins. (NCC/jw).
