Description

College, formerly house. Early C18, C19 and C20. Red brick, hipped slate roof with 3 red brick stacks and stucco and painted cornice. 3 bays, 2 storeys with central slightly projecting 3 storey bay. The right bay is slightly higher than the left and there is a C19 extension. Set on a plinth with stucco and painted 1st floor band and 1st floor sill band. The central bay also has a similar floor band and the right bay a similar ground floor sill band. Central doorway with panelled door, traceried overllght, fluted and reeded architrave with patera in the top corners and rusticated painted stucco surround. The pedimented Roman Doric columned porch has a triglyph entablature with dentil decorated pediment. To the left is a single sash, to the right a casement. Above 2 sashes with a casement to the right. In the top floor of the central bay is a casement. To the rear are extensive C19 and C20 extensions. Interior has early C18 open well staircase with 2 carved balusters per tread and carved tread ends. (NCC/js)
