Description

Row of 4 cottages. Early C19. Dressed coursed rubble with rendered front. The left gable has been heightened with red brick. Slate roof with 2 gable and 3 ridge red brick stacks. 3 storeys, 9 bays. Having from right to left a single glazing bar sash, a doorway with wooden door, glazing bar overlight and single left glazing bar marginal casement, a single glazing bar sash, a doorway with part glazed door, a single glazing bar sash, a doorway with part glazed door and then 3 glazing bar sashes. Above are 7 glazing bar sashes, the third from the right being narrower. Above are 6 smaller glazing bar sashes. There are 3 tie plates. To the right of the first doorway is a ridge, possible evidence of a removed stack. To the rear of the left cottage, No.4, is a rendered lean-to extension. (NCC/js)
