Description
House. Early C18 but possibly earlier and C19. Coursed rubble, rendered and painted. Pantile roof with ashlar coped gables and kneelers, single brick left gablestack and single ridge stack over the doorway. 2 storeys 4 bays. Doorway with plain ashlar surround, recessed panelled door and rectangular overlight. To the right is a wooden casement with 2 mullions and single transom having glazing bars above the transom. To the left are 2 similar casements. All ground floor windows have a slightly projecting hood mould. Above are 3 glazing bar casements with single wooden mullion. Over the doorway is a narrow glazing bar casement. Attached, at the rear, is a C19 painted brick 2 storey, 5 bay, outbuilding, with pantile roof and single ridge stack. Having a single doorway with wooden door, and to its left a single small glazing bar fixed light, a single slatted opening with glazing bar overlight, a single doorway with wooden door and a similar single slatted opening. Above are 3 slatted openings. Projecting from the left is a C18 coursed rubble 2 storey barn. Painted with ashlar quoins, pantile roof, stone coped gables and kneelers. Having 2 doorways with wooden doors. Above are 2 slatted openings with glazing bar overlights. Running along the top, broken by the openings, is a ledge. (NCC/js)
