Description
Small country house. Early C19. Brick, stuccoed, with hipped slate roof. Plinth, deep bracketed eaves, 2 roof stacks. 3 storeys, 3 bays, square plan. Main west front has central porch with panelled square columns and antae on dice, carrying entablature with parapet. Flanked by single mid C19 flat roofed bay windows with scrolled brackets to cornices, each with a pair of French windows and 4 flanking lights. Above, 3 mullioned and transomed casements, the outer pair with blind covers. Above, 3 smaller similar casements. To left, smoking room, mid C19, stuccoed, with conical slate roof. Single central mullioned and transomed bow window with flanking lights. South side has full width lean-to extension, stuccoed, with hipped slate roof. To left, large rounded bay window with central half glazed doors, 4 flanking lights and overlights. To right, full height mullioned and transomed casement. Above, 2 similar smaller casements on each floor. North side has a single casement and above, 4 blocked openings. Rear elevation has to right, scullery, single storey, single bay, stuccoed, with slate roof. Panelled door and single casement. Main rear wall has 2 mullioned and transomed casements and central stair light between floors. Above, 2 casements and above again, blocked opening to left and a single casement. (NCC/js)
