Reasons for Removing the Building from the List
The Dovecote, formerly known as the Pigeoncote, at White's Farm, is de-listed for the following principal reasons: * Alteration: the conversion of the building to residential use has resulted in the loss of much original fabric, including the roof structure and its covering and has necessitated the sub-division of the interior. These alterations have in this instance compromised the special interest of the building. * Context and Group Value: the whole of the former complex of farm buildings and enclosed yards at White's Farm, have been remodelled to form detached dwellings with garages, individual gardens, drives and hard standings. Additionally, new houses have been built on the periphery of the site. These changes have significantly altered the context with in which The Dovecote was intended to function and eroded the Group Value relationship between The Dovecote and the other buildings of the farmstead.
