Description

Pigeoncote, stables, cowhouses and barn. Late C18, mid and late C19, C20. Red brick, rubble plinth in parts. Pantile roofs. Late C18 stable with pigeoncote above. Dogtooth eaves. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central doorway with stable door under segmental arch, flanked by single openings with slatted wooden panels. Above to left and right are single rows of entrances for pigeons with wooden platforms under. To the left is a mid C19 single storey single bay outbuilding with dentil eaves and doorway with wooden plank door. To the right and set back is a single storey, single bay C18 cowhouse with dogtooth eaves and doorway with stable door under segmental arch. Attached to the right is a lower C18 single bay with single opening with slatted wooden panel. Further right and curving round is a 4 bay single storey late C19 stable range having from left to right a single opening with slatted wooden panel, a doorway with stable door and a similar opening all under segmental arches, further right is a large opening under flat arch. Projecting from the right is the 2 storey C19 barn with large blocked doorway. Projecting from the barn is a corrugated cover. A C20 wall running from this to the left of the pigeoncote forms a crewyard. Included for group value only. (NCC/js)
