Description

Pedestal monument, c.1800. Ashlar. Square plinth of 2 steps. Pedestal has moulded plinth and cornice and hipped cap. Partially erased verse inscription on south side refers to sailors of Nelson's navy. Part of a group of memorials to the Battle of the Nile, erected by the owner of the Thoresby Estate, who was a naval officer. (NCC/js)
