Description

A rambling building with a mid C18 extension facing the street with 5 windows, hung sashes with glazing bars, keystones, centre breaks forward. 2 late C19 gabled dormers in hipped roof. Brick end pilasters. Modern extension of 1 storey to ground floor. The original house is of early C18 or C17 date but little now remains unaltered, and it has been converted into a small public library. The entrance is up a small passage and the door is set in a porch in the angle of the building, of which the longer arm is of 4 windows, and the shorter faces the street with a modern ground floor window surmounted by an early C19 cast iron balcony, and a Venetian window in the 2nd storey.
