Description

House. C17. Restored and altered 1983-84. Remains of timber framing with brick hogging, brick, with C20 pantile roof and plain tile verge. South side has remains of 3 bays of timber framing. Single gable and single ridge stacks, 2 storeys, 3 bays. L-plan with C20 2 storey rear wing to east. North front has to right, C20 gabled brick porch with glazed door, flanked to left by 4 and to right by single Yorkshire sashes of different sizes, with segmental heads. Above, an off-centre Yorkshire sash, and above again, 3 C20 gabled dormers with casements. South front has to left 2 casements with segmental heads and to right, 2 French windows. Above 2 C20 gabled dormers with casements. West front has to left a door and to right a casement, both with segmental heads. South gable has a casement on each floor, both with segmental heads. East front has 4 casements of different sizes with segmental heads. Interior has a bay post with strut to tie beam, and struts from tie beam to rafters. Central full height timber framed chimney and to west, a stud wall with wattle and daub infill. Roof structure renewed c.1983. (NCC/js)
