Description

Pair of cottages and adjoining barn. Mid C18, 1875. Brick with pantile roofs. Partial plinth, rebated eaves, coped gable with kneelers. Barn has dentillated eaves and pedimented gables. 2 ridge and single side wall stacks. 2 storeys, 7 x 3 bays. South front has to left, small casement and blocked opening. To their right, casement flanked by single doors. To right again, door flanked by single casements, and to right again, Yorkshire sash and C20 casement. To right again, lean-to addition. Above, Yorkshire sash flanked to left by 3 casements and to right by 2 C20 casements. West gable has a single casement on each floor, that below with segmental head. Barn has to west, above, planked opening with segmental head and adjoining plank door. Flanked by single part-glazed hatches with timber lintels. To right, 2 glazing bar casements. North gable has to left, close-boarded door. Above, hatch with similar door and segmental head. Datestone inscribed (?) "JWE 1875". Adjoining stables, single storey, 2 bays, brick with slate roof, are not of special interest.
