Description
Pigeoncote and attached stable blocks and outbuilding. Mid C18 and C19. Red brick. Pantile roofs. Dentil eaves. Mid C18 pigeoncote of 2 storeys plus attic, single bay, the front being the south/gable wall. Doorway under segmental arch with wooden stable door. In the attic are entrances for pigeons with perches under. To the left is a one and a half storey, 2 bay stable block extending to a one and a half storey 4 bay C19 stable block. Having from right to left a doorway, single glazing bar fixed light, a doorway, a single wooden slatted opening with overlight, a doorway, a single fixed light and a doorway. Above right are 2 wooden slatted openings. All doorways have stable doors and all ground floor openings are under segmental arches. To the right is a one and a half storey, 2 bay C19 outbuilding with single small fixed light and, to the right a large doorway with double wooden door. Above is a single fixed light. Projecting from the stable block is a C19 shelter shed. Interior of the pigeoncote has on the first floor brick nesting boxes and perches from floor to roof and to all 4 sides, there is also a brick floor. The stable below retains some chamfered beams. The C15 stable block to the left contains some original wattle panels. Included for group value only. (NCC/js)
