Description
Farmhouse and adjoining pigeoncote, c.1875. Raised and altered c.1950. Brick with plain tile and slate roofs. Moulded and cogged string courses. Projecting quoins. Cogged and chamfered eaves. Ashlar dressings. Single ridge and external side wall stacks with octagonal stalks. 2 storeys, 4 unequal bays. Windows are C19 and mid C20 casements. West front has to left, 3 casements. To their right, larger mullioned casement. To right again, 2 storey tower porch with shaped gable and 3 round headed openings. Above, 2 casements and cross eaves gabled dormer. Porch has plaque with shield plus a single casement on each side. South gable has canted bay window and above, casement, gas, side has 2 casements. To right, single storey addition, mid C20, with 2 casements. In return angle, door flanked by single casements. Above, to left, casement flanked by single gabled cross eaves dormers. To right again, 2 casements. Adjoining hipped outbuilding to north, single storey, 2 bays, has a ridge stack. To east, 2 doorways. Adjoining square pigeoncote, 2 stages, has to north and west a keystoned round window. Above, a similar window on each side. Pyramidal roof with wind vane, renewed c.1960. (NCC/js)
