Description

Farmhouse. C18. Brick with hipped and gabled pantile roof. Dentillated eaves. Remains of coped gable with kneeler, single external gable and single ridge stacks. 2 storeys, 2 bays. L-plan. South front has to left, panelled door and to right a casement, both with segmental heads. To right again, a slatted opening. Above, to left, a Yorkshire sash and to right, a casement. Return angle has to left a Yorkshire sash with segmental head, and to right, blocked door. Above, a Yorkshire sash. West side has, to left, projecting blocked chimney, single Yorkshire sash and single glazing bar sash, both with segmental heads. Above, to left, a Yorkshire sash and to its right, a small casement and a small glazing bar sash. Rear elevation has catslide roof. To left, 2 plank doors, and to their right, 2 small casements and a plank door. To right again, a casement and a Yorkshire sash. Beyond, a glazing bar sash with segmental head. Above, to right, a single glazing bar sash. Adjoining farm buildings, to east, 4 unequal bays, have to south, to left, stable door and a slatted opening, both with segmental heads. To right, pair of sliding barn doors with timber lintel, flanked by 2 breathers. Beyond, to right, stable door with segmental head, and beyond, 2 breathers. Above, to left, slatted casement and to its right, 6 breathers. North side has a pair of sliding barn doors with timber lintel, flanked to left by 2 breathers, and above, 4 breathers. Adjoining shed, to left, has asbestos cement roof. 2 breathers, and above, pitch hole flanked by single breathers. East gable has 3 tiers of 3 breathers and single breather in gable. (NCC/js)
