Description
Pair of houses, now shop, restaurant, car showroom, restaurant and flat. Mid C18 with late C19 and late C20 alterations. Brick with stone dressings and slate roof. First floor sill band, coved eaves, single coped gable, 2 gable, single rear wall and single side wall stacks. Pedimented projecting centres, 3 windows. 3 storeys; 10 window range of glazing bar sashes with multi keystone lintels. Above, 10 similar sashes without lintels. Below, 2 pairs of late C19 wooden shopfronts with cornices on brackets, the more ornate left pair with panelled pilasters. To right, central round headed stone doorcase with keystone and imposts, 8-panel door and fanlight. To its left, garage opening with glazed double doors. To its right, restaurant with recessed central glazed door flanked by single glazing bar windows, all C20. To left, shopfront with single pane window and recessed glazed door. Altered shopfront to its right has reglazed door and window. To its right, a 2-panel entry door. Left side, to Boar Lane, has first floor band and cogged eaves. 3 storeys; 3 window range with 2 segment headed glazing bar sashes and to right, a smaller casement. Above, 2 similar sashes. Below, to left, a renewed late C19 wooden shopfront with panelled pilasters and cornice on brackets. Central glazed door flanked by single pane windows with toplights. To right, smaller late C19 shopfront of similar design with off-centre door flanked by single pane windows. (EH)
