Description

House, now flats. Built c1795 by William Revill, joiner. Late C19 2 storey projecting front. Brick with slate roof. Cogged eaves, coped gables, 3 gable stacks. 3 storey, 8 window range, L-plan. Second floor has S small glazing bar sashes. Front addition has moulded terracotta cornices and parapet. Recessed centre flanked by single square bays. Plain sashes, with segmental heads to ground floor. Recessed central doorway with late C18 moulded stone doorcase with fanlight and cornice on consoles. On either side, 2 sashes. Above, central round headed window flanked by 2 sashes on either side, all with keystoned heads. (Norman Summers: A Prospect of Southwell: London: 1974-: 78). (NCC/js)
