Description

House and shop. Late C18 and early C19. Brick with stone dressings and hipped concrete tile roof. Rendered plinth, cogged eaves, single rear wall stack. Windows are mainly late C20 casements with glazing bars. 3 storeys plus basement; 3 window range. Second floor windows are smaller. Ground floor has central moulded wooden doorcase with dentil cornice on scroll brackets, C20 door and plain overlight, flanked by single windows. Below and to the left, a C19 half-glazed door to the basement. Right end, facing street, has an early C19 shopfront in fluted wooden surround, with half-glazed 2-leaf door to left and 3-light shop window to right. Above, a tripartite glazing bar sash with keystoned head. Above again, a dummy Diocletian window. (NCC/js)
