Description

House, formerly Inn. 1630-50. Timber framed with brick cladding, and pantile roof. Single gable, roof and rear wall stacks, the last external. 2 storeys, 2 bays, with original rear outshut raised C19, forming double depth plan. South front has 2 plain sashes with segmental heads, and above, 2 Yorkshire sashes with timber lintels. East gable has to left, C20 door and to right, 2 casements, all with segmental heads. Rear elevation has to left, glazing bar sash with segmental head and to right C20 plastic porch and door. Above, 2 Yorkshire sashes and to right, a casement. Interior has a pair of bay posts, single straight brace, 3 chamfered span beams with stops, stud wall and important early C18 winder stair with square newels, deep moulded handrail, and vase and stem balusters. Landing has simpler handrail and splat balusters, one wavy. Principal rafter roof mainly renewed C20. Roof space has stud partition. 2 C18 panelled doors with HL hinges. Adjoining outbuildings, C19, brick with pantile roof, single storey, 4 bays, have single ridge stack. East side has, to left, a Yorkshire sash flanked by single close boarded and plank doors.
