Description

School, now village hall and house. Dated 1840, later C19. Stucco over red brick. Slate roof. 2 stucco ridge stacks. Single storey, 3 bay centre, flanked by 2 storey, single bay projecting gabled wings each with pediment formed in the gable. 2 tripartite cross casements. To the left is a projecting late C19 porch with plank door in the side wall and a single pair of sashes in the front wall, over is a re-set plague inscribed "School 1840". The outer single bays each have a doorway with C20 glazing bar door on the right and panelled door on the left. Above right is a single C20 glazing bar casement and left a single 2 light glazing bar casement. In the pediments are single paterae. (NCC/js)
