Description

House, early C18, with C19 and C20 additions. Brick with rubble plinth, rendered, steep ditch plain tile roof, stucco lintels, stone dressings, let floor brick band, moulded timber eaves, 2 coped gables, single off-centre ridge stock, single gable stack, 2 storeys with attics, 4 windows. Central C19 gabled brick porch with round arched opening and C19 door, flanked by single C20 2 light casements; beyond, to west. C19 plain sash; beyond, to east, C19 canted bay window with 3 plain sashes. Above, 4 C18 glazing bar sashes; above again, 4 gabled dormers with single C18 glazing bar lights. West gable has 2 C19 glazing bar sashes; above single C19 glazing bar sash. East gable has C20 3 light glazing bar metal casement; above, another similar casement. Extensive late C18, C19 and C20 additions to rear. Interior has early C19 staircase and C18 panelling on first floor landing. Boundary wall to Low Street, brick with stone coping, approx. 20M long. Carriage entrance to east with timber posts; wicket to west with ramps to blue-brick capped piers, supporting C19 curved top diagonal matchboard gate. (NCC/js)
