The earthwork and below ground remains of a series of fishponds situated 170 metres south of Damstead Farm. The ponds lie in a natural valley through which runs Cuttail Brook. The fishponds are a series of three linear compartments which form a linear group. The ponds are aligned south east to north west and increase in size from the south. The smallest measures 40 metres long by 25 metres wide, the middle pond 53 metres long and between 15 metres and 38 metres wide and the largest 187 metres long and 50 metres wide. All three ponds are dammed at their north western ends. The dams consist of earth and clay banks. The ponds have not been excavated but are believed to belong to the medieval period, when they formed part of the Annesley Hall estate. Scheduled.
