Description

House and attached pump. Late C17, raised early C19 with early and late C19 extensions. Red brick, painted. Slate roofs. South, C17 front, raised. Left gable and single ridge rendered stacks. Left gable with ashlar coping. Wooden cornice. 2 storeys plus garret, 3 bays. First floor band. Central doorway with open shallow brick and tile porch having rusticated jambs and segmental moulded arch with band of dentil. Inner panelled door under segmental arch. Either side are single glazing bar sashes with 3 similar sashes above, all under segmental arches. To the right of the doorway is a wood, iron and lead pump. To the right is a projecting C19 2 storey, single bay wing under a catslide roof with doorway with C20 door and doorcase and in the side wall a single glazing bar fixed light on each floor. To the left and set back is a lower 2 storey, 4 bay wing with single central ridge brick stack. Raised brick eaves, first floor sill and lintel bands. 3 sashes under segmental arches with continuous hood mould. To the left is a gabled porch with pointed arched entrance and inner panelled door with overlight under a segmental arch. Above are 2 sashes. Further left is a lean-to with doorway under segmental arch. On the far right is a c.1810 wing with hipped roof. The east/main front being rendered and painted with chamfered quoins and with 2 lateral rendered stacks. Eaves cornice. Set on a chamfered plinth. 2 storeys, 4 bays with first floor sill band. Doorway, 4 steps up, with glazed and panelled double door, overlight and moulded surround with highly decorative brackets supporting the slightly projecting hood. To the left is a single sash with 2 similar sashes to the right and 4 similar sashes above, all have moulded surrounds and rendered keyblocks. Interior of C17 build has chamfered beams with stops and a bressummer beam. Over the cellar doorway is a small wooden strip carved with a radiating design. Dogleg staircase with C17 turned balusters to ground and first floors. (NCC/js)
