Description
Farmhouse. 1729. Refenestrated early C19. Brick, partly rendered, with concrete tile roof. Rendered brick plinth, first floor and front lintel bands, cogged and dentillated eaves. 3 gable stacks. 2 storeys plus garrets, 3 bays. L-plan. Windows are all glazing bar sashes, one round headed. South front has central ashlar steps and C18 panelled door in moulded jambs, with fanlight, flanked by single sashes and 4 blocked openings. To right, cellar opening with segmental head. Above, 3 sashes and 4 blocked openings. East front has 3 sashes and above, round headed stair light. To its right, a blocked opening and a sash. Above again, to left, blocked opening to garret. North gable has to right, a C20 casement. Rear wing has to west, C20 glazed porch in return angle with close boarded door. Above, casement with segmental head. Lean-to addition in return angle has to north a barred Yorkshire sash. Interior has 3 fitted cupboards with fielded panelled doors, 7 early C19 fielded panelled doors, early C19 hob grate with floral panelled stone surround, mid C19 carved wood fire surround with dentillated cornice. Dogleg stair with half landing, decorated string, moulded scrolled ramped handrail and stick balusters. Chamfered span beams with single ogee stop. Remains of fireplace bressummer. (NCC/js)
