Description
House and boundary wall. Mid C18, rear range dated 1804 on rainwater head, mid C19 additions and alterations. Brick, rendered and colourwashed, with stone dressings and hipped slate and plain tile roofs. Single side wall and single ridge stacks. 2 storey C18 east front has chamfered eaves and projecting pedimented centre. 5 C19 plain sashes. Central moulded stone doorcase with cornice on scroll brackets, flanked by single canted flat roofed bay windows with plain sashes. Irregular west front, 3 windows, has 2 plain sashes and a cross casement, all with segmental heads. Above, central casement flanked by single blanks. To left, panelled door, the top 2 panels glazed, and to right, 2 sashes of different types, flanked by single casements. Interior has flagged entrance hall with modillion cornice and 2 round headed openings to west. On either side, a 6-panelled door. Room to right has elaborate pierced cornice and mid C19 marble fireplace. Room to left has a reeded wooden fireplace. Both have panelled doors in moulded cases. Staircase with vase and stem balusters and turned newels. 2 C18 panelled doors. Chamfered ceiling beams in rear range. Outside, coped brick boundary wall approx. 60M long, with 2 round headed close boarded doors, that to left under a gable. (NCC/js)
