Description
Railway bridge, 1851 altered c1970 Clayton, Shuttleworth and Co. of Lincoln for the Great Northern Railway Company. Red brick ashlar and iron. South side of bridge with 3 elliptical ashlar arches with rusticated voussoirs. Extending over is an ashlar band topped with ashlar coped brick parapet. Ashlar cutwaters. To the north is the decorative iron single span bridge by Clayton, Shuttleworth and Co., with lattice girding and iron railings. This section was re-enforced with concrete arches in c1970. This is flanked by large single rusticated ashlar piers. The iron span is in the parish of Stoke Bardolph and the remainder of the bridge is in the parish of Radcliffe-on-Trent. Pevsner, N. This building was added to the 42nd List, in the Borough of Rushcliffe, in the parish of Radcliffe-on-Trent, on 10 November 1986. and was omitted in error from the 21st List, in the Borough of Gedling, in the parish of Stoke Bardolph, on 27 April 1987.
