Description

A small open space on Mount Lane, immediately outside the NE corner of St Mary's churchyard and S of Mount Lane school, was selected for examination in the hope of gaining more information about the N side of the Med defences. A single trench was excavated, initially by mechanical means ; and later, from a depth of about 1.5m, by hand. (1)
