Description

(Mound 300 yards west of the farm). A thorough exploration was undertaken in the summer of 1909. The mound was accurately surveyed and levelled, and operations were commenced on the 12th of July. A trench, 10ft wide, and running due magnetic north, was marked out from the southern circumference to and beyond the top of the mound. Excavations were continued for some days. (1)
