Description

In 1857-8 a lady whose archaeological tastes led her to investigation on this site, made some further discoveries of remains… I allude to Mrs Miles, the wife of the rector of East Bridgford, who had long noticed fragments of pottery &c on the surface of the ground in several of the fielsds. A small hole was dug in the "Castle Field". (1) See E 3144, E3158, E3159 for further work by Mrs Miles.
