Description

Watching brief. A drainage trench (G) on the SW side of the house outside the scheduled area had been partly dug by A. Elliott, the landowner. The trench was about 30cm wide and 90cm deep. The trench bottom sloped slightly from E to W. There was a short extention at right angles to trench G which ran up to the house and uncovered part of the house foundations. (1) See E230 for 1988 W/B (trenches B-F) and E5921 for finds by owner.
