Description

A drain was inserted around the whole of the church except for the tower and the vestry. The 1m wide trenches were excavated archaeologically prior to the insertion of the pipes. These were linked to two soakaways, one to the N of the church and one to the SW. In addition to the drainage programme a major repair scheme was also undertaken involving the re-rendering of the lower half of the tower and repair of a S aisle clerestory window. Stripping of the rendering provided an opportunity to record newly revealed architectural features. (2)
