Description

The areas under investigation lie within a development area occupying approximately 3km2 to the S of Clifton. An initial examination of each of the survey locations with gradiometers in scanning mode found few anomalies. Detailed survey was conducted in six locations, these samples were placed at random or over pottery scatters located by field walking. The anomalies are ephemeral and could be ascribed to natural soil variations or recent ploughing disturbance. (1)
