In August 1993 TPAT were commissioned to carry out archaeological evaluation, comprising desktop assesment, geophysical survey, fieldwalking and auger survey, at nine sites likely to be affected by the A453(T) Clifton Lane Improvement (Site Nos.10 - 12, 14, 19 and 21 - 24). … Site investigations were carried out during September 1993 using a range of techniques at each site, as proved appropriate. Fieldwalking was undertaken by walking parallel transects situated ten metres apart with the location of finds recorded via EDM, geophysical methodology varied by site and is detailed more fully in the individual events.
