Description

Survey was undertaken using a Geoscan RM4/DL10 resistivity meter and data logger. Readings were taken at 1m centres over an area of 60x40m at the S end of the field. Survey was undertaken in early May following a wet April and the Lower Lias Clay subsoil probably remained saturated. Several possible archaeological anomalies detected were later proved by excavation to be mostly geological. (1) (2) See E198 for trial trenches, E9055 for topographical survey.
