Description

The purpose of the trial trench was to locate cultural remains and hence former land surfaces beneath the alluvial cover of the site. The trench was located transverse (E-W) to the relict palaeochannel at the alluvium - sandy island interface. It was 20m long, 5m wide and 3m deep. With the exception of modern land drains, no archaeological features or artefacts were identified or recovered. (1) See E9103 for WB
