Description

Topsoil was stripped over the whole of the area to the N of the existing church to a depth of between 0.2 to 0.45m. Each of the foundation trenches [for the extension] was excavated to a depth of 2m, using a JCB with 0.6m ditching bucket. No significant archaeological remains were encountered although numerous inhumation burials were identified. (1)
