Description

Watching brief was carried out by TPAT intermittently during July and August 1990 during construction work on a site which appeared to lie across the 'Line of Circumvallation (see M8401). The excavations (for fence post holes, warehouse foundation trenches and service trench) formed an effective 65m long transect, almost continuous, across the supposed line of the earthwork. No archaeological features were identified, the line of circumvallation probably lies beyond the limits of the transect. (1)
