Description

The topsoiling in field 5877 revealed a scatter of stone, Roman pottery and tile. In order to more fully investigate the remains to be destroyed a c.0.05m spit was removed from an area c.1m wide and 32m long along the prospective line of the pipe (trench 01). (1) See E9135 for fieldwalking, E9136 for topsoiling, E9137 and E9139 for salvage excavations.
