Description

A low intensity archaeological watching brief took place between 23rd March and 17th May, 1999 during a water mains replacement scheme within the village of Darlton in Nottinghamshire. Open cut trenching was extremely limited. The section of the water main route flagged for archaeological monitoring comprised approximately 1.1 miles E-W through the village along the line of the A57, and approximately 450m N-S along Woodcoates Road. No discreet archaeological features (or feature complexes) were identified during the watching brief. (1) Grid ref for west end.
