An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during water mains replacement in the area of the villages of Ranskill, Mattersey and Lound. . ... Area 3. Within the historic core of Lound village; consisting principally of Town Street. … in this area, pipe bursting techniques were used, resulting in only very small areas of previously undisturbed deposits being exposed.
