Description

A short trial excavation was undertaken at 45 Balderton Gate prior to redevelopment. A seven day excavation was undertaken by Lindsey Archaeological Services. Two L shaped trenches examined, close to the street front and 24m further N. The overburden and some of the underlying archaeology was removed mechanically, resulting in many deposits being only examined in section. (1) Grid ref for trench B.
