Description

Two trenches were machine excavated perpendicular to London Road. Trench 1 was 24m long and 1.6m wide to a depth of 1.4m. Excavation of two trenches at the former Castle Brewery site did not result in the disturbance of archaeological remains. The site was characterised by numerous intercutting tip lines and demolition layers, all of which appear to be modern. (1) Grid ref centred.
