Description

An intermittent watching brief during trench excavation for a replacement water main through parts of the villages of Headon and Upton. The pipe trench did not disturb any identified archaeological features of particular interest and no artefacts were recovered. It is likely that the route keeping to modern roads, only crossed ground which had been tracks used since the medieval period. (1) Grid ref for most southerly observation.
