Description

Detailed gradiometer surveys were undertaken over specific cropmarks to determine whether they extend E into the supposed peat / alluvial covered areas and to accurately locate their position on the ground. Several areas were scanned using the gradiometer with the aim of locating any possible palaeochannels. Most of the sections scanned were extremely quiet magnetically. No anomalies suggestive of palaeochannels were located. (1) See E9267 for trial trenching, E9268 for fieldwalking, E9311 - E9314 for evaluations. Grid reference general
